“We
have tried many outsourcing vendors around the world from South
Africa, India, Jamaica, as well as others in the Philippines,
but OSI was by far the best of any of these.”
- The Wallstreet Transcript -Transcription and Audio Conversion
“Your
dedication and sense of urgency in developing our project management
agenda has exceeded our expectations. It is a pleasure doing business
with your fine organization.”
- Xlibris - Typesetting, Copy Editing, Data entry, Cover Design
“Your
efforts went well beyond our initial expectations. In less than
two weeks our news gathering operation was in full swing. The
high level of your work enabled us to implement new projects that
were deemed too costly to do in the USA.”

Client Response to Bank of America Inquiry
1. Did you get and are you getting the results you wanted from
OSI? Did they meet your expectations?
When
we engaged OSI, our desire was to find a secondary source for
text cleaning, processing and styling within our Pagemaker templates.
Soon after our relationship began, we made OSI our primary vendor.
The reasons for this decision was: 1. more stable communication
lines than what we got from the lines to our outsourcer in India,
and 2. there was less of a communication barrier because the owner
is American; small differences in "language" can mean
the introduction of errors in our products. OSI has met our expectations
and, in fact, exceeded them.
An example
would be the fact that they do quite a bit of analysis on the
work we send them to offer us a better understanding of the cost
components. That allows us to understand the benefits of outsourcing
and charge our customers appropriately.
2.
What were the processes you used in working with OSI that helped
achieve your goals?
We engaged
in an extensive training and information sharing exercise that
provided us both with the level of comfort that we needed to move
forward. Now we are planning a trip to actually continue the education
by training their staffers in the areas of detail that are common
within our workflow.
An example
is authors often use bad or incorrect formatting to demonstrate
style information. The information, which represents the authors
intention, may be incompatible with our templates, therefore,
require modification. If the modifications are not consistent
with the authors "meaningful desire" then the author
will not be happy and this, in fact, will introduce errors.
3.
What would you do differently, now that you've done a project
with OSI?
I
can't really think of anything relevant to OSI, but I can say
that before considering another outsourcer, I would see to it
that the management is American. I can not overstate how much
of a difference that appears to make in looking at our various
vendors overtime (we have had 4 and still do business with 2 in
the past 4 years)
4.
Given the Asian/Philippine cultural context, can you give me any
examples that would help me feel comfortable about trusting OSI
to be a reputable vendor with high integrity we rely on for key
functions?
It was a faith
(and price) call for me, but I don't regret it. Charles Kessler,
the "marketing" guy has a previous relationship with
Safeguard Scientifics (I used to run a Safeguard-invested company),
but that was purely an after-thought.
5.
Any other comments or advice you'd like to give us regarding OSI
or offshore outsourcing?
American Management,
American Management, American Management (we have been doing for
several years and it really does make the difference, if all else
is equal)
